Laura Dantonville, an elementary school teacher in Australia receives more than what she bargained for when she turned fifty. Now she learns from her aunt that there is much more to it. Laura must have a guardian for the next fifty years and he needs to feed off her blood in order to have the strength to protect her. It seems there is an old family curse involved and she might be the one who could finally lift the centuries old curse.
The story is a real page-turner and I found it hard to put down. I found the first person POV which shifted between Laura and her guardian, Alec, easy to follow. Though much of the usual vampire lore is used, the author still finds a way to bring new life to the genre. The story-telling is well done, the writing fresh and compelling. Highly Recommended.

I loved this book. It was hard to put it down. I want to read the next book because it was so good. There were a couple of grammatical/spelling errors. New twist on vampires. I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for a review.
The story was all right. I really liked the ancient curse aspect of the story. The characters were done well and I can't wait to know more about them.
I felt like a lot of things were rushed that I wished would have been drawn out. The storyline felt really familiar to me and I'm not sure if I read this book before or perhaps something similar.
I'm not a huge fan of instant love and wished for more of a developing relationship between the two main characters. I hope in the next book we see more of their relationship develop.
Overall it wasn't bad and I would like to see what happens next.
Bloodgifted - I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It's a different take on vampires. I loved the world building. Strong characters that I enjoyed reading and getting to know. Just an excellent story and very well told. Great heroine. She weathered some difficult circumstances with grace. The hero is... delicious. I highly recommend this book
WOW what a great story! Laura has a rare condition that doesn't allow her to age and her 50th birthday, though she look like she's in her 20's, she finds out the family secret and find out about a rite that she has to go through. She also find out that she'll have a guardian who's also a vampire. Because of a curse that happened centuries ago the course of her life will now change. She'll find out more family secrets and have to choose between 2 men.

This is wonderful story that puts a different spin on vampire stories. The characters are strong and make you want to know more. If you love vampire stories you'll love this but make time to read because once I started it I couldn't put it down and read it mostly in one sitting. Can't wait to start book#2
I haven't read a vampire story written for adults in a while. BloodGifted is a well thought out story, that sucks you in from the get go!

The main character is easy to relate to, and you want her to have a HEA, despite it seeming like an impossibly. I was rooting for her, the whole time.

The main fella has depth, in character and history.

Ms. Lacoba has created a believable world to compliment reality. I can't wait to read some more, and fine out the further history of the vampire characters!

I definitely recommend this PNR to anyone who likes a good story to back up all the love!
This is the first novel about vampires I've ever read. Vampires aren't my thing, but the promotions piqued my interest so I decided to see what it was about. What a surprise. Sexy vampires? Yes, sexy vampires, the absolutely yummy Dr. Alec Munro being the sexiest of all. I have to admit I wouldn't mind getting bitten by him.

Of course all the vampires in this novel bite, but they're as near to being normal people as anything that has lived since the days of the Roman Empire can be. Born in 1918, Alec is a mere youngster compared to some of them.

Like normal people, vampires fall in love. But unlike normal people, they can live forever, so I assume the lovebirds in this story will live happily ever after. The writer doesn't tell you if they will or not, so I won't know until I read the sequel if my assumption is correct.

This is a well written book and very enjoyable read. I'm looking forward to the sequel. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is I felt there were one too many typos for a five star book.
I am biased! It is set in Australia and I can relate to the where and when so I went into this wanting to like it. I did and it is a very good effort from a new writer. It is not perfect and I believe the plot can be tightened as many things happen too quickly like the boyfriend who seems a nice guy turning out to be a very nasty if fangless. The build up was a little clumsy in this instance and also in other places but over all there is something in this that connects the reader and fascinates enough to want the next book as soon as possible.

I totally believe this writer will get better and I can't wait to see where Laura and her vampire Alec take us. The plot is an intriguing idea, the book is thought out and well-written so make the effort as I think you will be hard put not to enjoy this.
