Kendra Locke has crushed on her brother's friend Deuce Monroe for years, YEARS! Deuce left town to play pro-baseball and has only come back once for his mother's funeral. They hooked up for one incredible night, but the next day Deuce left. Now, after one too many daredevil stunts, he's been fired from team and is back in town. He wants to take over the family bar only to find out it's no longer a bar but a coffee shop and internet café managed and partly owned by Kendra. Deuce is ready to pick things up with Kendra as if no time has passed, but Kendra was burned pretty bad and wants to pretend that night never happened. As they start to fight over how the bar/coffee shop should be run, sparks fly. Deuce's father decides to give them a couple months to run the coffee shop in the day and the bar at night and see who does better in the hopes that they will work it out themselves--both the business and their personal feelings.

I always love "lovers reunite" stories so I was predisposed to like this story. There was a lot to like with only a few distractions. This story does feel a bit dated as it obviously was written several years ago. I really enjoyed watching Kendra lowering her walls and allowing Deuce back in and watching Deuce get a clue. Their past is slowly revealed and we get to see bit by bit what happened as they grew up and eight years ago.

Dr. Nicole Mann was a child prodigy who is now a stellar surgeon but she is seriously lacking in bedside manner with absolutely no people skills. Her two neighbors have befriended her forcing her to stretch her comfort zone. All three women have made a pact to stay single forever; although one has already fallen. Nicole has no time in her life for anybody else, so why is she suddenly making time to help out the architect renovating her apartment building? Ty Patrick O'Grady is a wanderer with no ties. Both Nicole and Ty are so stubbornly tough and closed off but somehow start to let the other in without really realizing what is happening.

I really enjoyed this story and the development of both characters and of their romance. This is actually book 2 in a trilogy, and I can't wait to read the others.

Connor Reilly and his two brothers have a bet with their oldest brother, a priest, to go without sex for 90 days. One brother has already had to forfeit. Connor is determined to be the victor, so he is avoiding all temptation. The only woman safe is Emma Jacobsen, his friend who is always wearing her mechanic coveralls and sharing friendly banter while he talks about this woman or that one. Emma thought they were good friends, until Connor admits how "safe" she is because she's not a real girl so there is no danger of him losing the bet hanging around her. Hurt and pissed off, Emma is declaring war! She's going to show her "pal" just how unsafe and dangerous she is to his bet. She has no romantic feelings for him, but she is dang sure he is going lose and lose BAD. But what happens once that door is opened?

This was my favorite story out of the three. I love "friends to lovers" stories as they most always show a strong foundation for the romance to build upon. I rarely like stories involving "the bet," but this one worked for me as "the bet" was known by both parties and didn't involve a specific person (as in "I bet you $ to sleep with that girl" etc. etc.) I loved how Emma drew Connor in and called him on his crap. When he screws up his apology, she doesn't hesitate to call him on it and to teach him how to do it properly.
I have no idea if the story is good or not, it was a gift. But she certainly enjoyed received an indulgent snack of a read with that cover on it to start her Monday off right. It actually was a thicker book that it looks, it's not a short ready. Thanks for cheering up a friend!
I read all three stories in a matter of one night! Each story is well thought out and has the feel of reading a full length novel. Sometimes in anthologies not all the stories are appealing to all readers however I found each of these stories appealing and enjoyable. The reason I picked up the novel was for the Jill Shalvis story because I enjoy her other work so much but I have discovered some new authors to enjoy as well. I think my favorite story was The Sins of His Past by Roxanne St. Claire. The characters were well drawn and the story was heartfelt. This is definitely a fun read not to be missed.
I loved all three stories. They each offered something different yet they each had a "bit of Irish" in them.

The Sins of His Past gave you Deuce Monroe and Kendra Locke. They share a past together-one they both know about and one that Deuce has no idea about. The story centers around Kendra trying to make her dream come true by turning Monroe's-former bar into a cyber cafe/art gallery. Unexpectedly, Deuce returns to his hometown to keep the family tradition of running Monroe's as a sports bar. Sparks fly, passion ignites, old wounds are healed, and secrets are revealed in this tantalizing story. I am used to Roxanne St. Claire as a suspense romance writer. I did not know she had a former life as a romance writer. In my opinion she can write either one. Her writing talents definitely shines in this book.

Tangling With Ty gave you Dr. Nicole Mann and sexy Ty O'Grady. This is definitely an opposites attract story. Ty a wandering architect and Dr. Nicole Mann a doctor with an IQ that's off the charts. Nicole does not know how to interact with people well but somehow Ty gets her to communicate quite well. LOL Tangling With Ty is a fun light read with interesting side characters. Jill Shalvis is known for her quirky characters and snarky dialogue. This story has both ingredients.

What Reilly Wants- This book is written by an author that is new to me. I like her writing style and the characters she creates. Conner Reilly is involved in a bet with his brothers on who can survive "no sex" for 90 days. Conner is determined to win but it is getting harder as each day passes. He decides it is safe to hang with his best friend Emma Jacobsen because he doesn't look at her as a woman. This offends Emma to the highest degree and she sets off to make Conner lose the bet as payback. When I read the blurb on what the story was about my first thought was 'oh no not another girl pretends she has no feelings for
her best friend but sets out to make him want her' story. Well, this story is not quite like that. It was refreshing because in the end both Emma and Conner do not know what hit them. It was a great romantic read.
