Pirates The Midnight Passage James R Hannibal James Clamp Books

Hannibal writes an adventure to put the reader right in the shoes of Captain Thatcher. From the first page I was captivated. Then the adventure begins. Feel the warm breezes and scents of the high seas. Can you hear the clashing of swords, choke on mystic gases, feel the slime on cave walls and don't forget to hold your breath when you go under water. Oh yeah, you are soaking wet when you are driven through a waterfall. But, one of the best parts of this book is when Hannibal gives you a SHOCKING twist about 2/3 of the way when you find out that.....sorry you will have to find this out for yourself!!!! Well done Mr. Hannibal. Please don't keep us waiting for Jim Thatcher's next adventure.

Filled with suspense and perils galore, this book will appeal to anyone interested in that swashbuckling period of history where pirates fought for glorious treasures. Amidst the action and competition between the pirates to discover the booty comes a frightening, mystical Aztec underground river filled with surprise.
Although a short read (140 pages), Pirates carries the reader along at a fast pace with twists and turns along the way. This is a book of adventure that thrills and delivers the action that makes the reader keep reading nonstop to the end.

Pirates The Midnight Passage by James R. Hannibal is a good old fashioned adventure that changed my view of pirates. When I thought of pirates, I thought of swashbuckling sword fights and murderous captains. No more. I have since discovered that Long John Silver didn't enjoy killing. Even Blackbeard asked permission before commanding a ship and its crew.

Jim Thatcher was different still. He valued life far above gold doubloons. He only killed for self-defense and when no other option was available. His first loyalty was to the crown of England, though that loyalty was shaken when the crown refused to recognize the letters of marque of the privateers. It was then that the lost treasure of Captain Morgan appealed to Captain Thatcher so that he and his men could buy their pardons and redeem their reputations before the crown.

Obtaining the map to the lost treasure was only the beginning of many deadly dangers that Jim Thatcher and the crew of the Adventure must survive. Underground water ways, strange gases, ancient puzzles, strange riddles, and forgotten civilization await this band of pirates.

James R. Hannibal does a great job of describing the action. You'll swear you can see the gold glitter, hear the wind and water, feel the fire, and smell the ... you'll have to read it for yourself. What a thrill ride! Incredible! Suspenseful, vivid, humorous ...Pirates The Midnight Passage is like a cross between National Treasure and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Can honestly say this was weak. Poor character development is generous statement. Story is . . . well, it would be a story written by a middle schooler.
I never could get into this book. I read part of it and gave up. In my opinion it isn't worth the purchase.
Totally different direction for this author but an enjoyable read. Borders on fantasy, but if you enjoy the sea, tall tales and pirates, you will love it.
