I am currently addicted to Jennifer Connors's "Lesson" series, and am very sad I'm on book 9 already! This has been one of the most fun series I've read in a while, and the premise of Ginny having to live out romance heroines' lives is a very clever one! I can relate to Ginny as I'm also sarcastic, have a dry humor, and am annoying independent and not very lady-like, so it's been a lot of fun imagining how I would handle the situations she finds herself in.

Do yourself a favor and read this series! After book 9, I'm moving on to Jennifer's other books to see what else she has in store for us!

Third in the series, I want more. I see the character development in each one as she grows emotionally and spiritually. I found the premise a great ides. Surprised someone else didn't think of it before.
This series is worth the purchase. Buy them all because you won't stop at one. The author has a weavers hand in writing. She designs a simple work of beauty. Timeless work that is a must read and savor . Get a cup of coffee or tea and indulge in this spell binding journey of literary talent.
Colby is my favorite of Ginny's many heroes. Rough and tumble wild west man, and that's not my usual type ). The way Ginny connects with his entire family just seems so geniune and exactly what Ginny needs. I love watching her grow and look forward to reading more from Connors!

I completely agree with the previous review by Mistress_Suzie, this series gets better with each book! After I read the first "A Lesson in Passion" and immediately bought the second and third. I felt compelled to write a review for the third seeing there were so few. The series is about a woman from 2008 who is thrust into the life of a different heroine of a historical romance novel with each book (anybody remember Quantum Leap?). In this installment she comes to be in the wild west and soon finds that she is living the life of a woman who is to be bought at the bride marker, and then purchased by a bitter rancher from Wyoming. Though she and her new husband have no intention of living in "holy matrimony", he does ask her to act as governess for his younger siblings, as he works long hours on the ranch and due to the death of their parents the have no one else to care for and teach them. Despairing of ever returning to her own century she is resigned to live this life as governess to the younger siblings of the man her bought her, but soon comes to love the family as her own. The twist in this story is that unlike in her previous lives she has no memories from this life, and her "husband" finds her lack of memories suspicious and afraid she is trying to pull a scam, leading to the inevitable conflict and drama between the main characters in a romance novel.

The reasons I enjoy these books so much is that the protagonist, Ginny, could be any of us a modern, independent, self-assured woman, with many of the same ideals, social mores and beliefs. When thrust into a rather impossible scenarios she doesn't throw fits and tantrums, she figures out what she needs to do to survive and return home. And because of it, I can really relate to this character. The best part is you see her grow in each of the books from a rather egocentric, know-it-all, "I'm from the future and therefore better than you because I'm a liberated woman" into a much more understanding, patient, caring and forgiving woman (I thought she was rather b**chy in the beginning to be honest). You really see that she is learning from each of her experiences and I hope that when the series ends she'll be as happy as many of the people she's brought together in the books.

I thoroughly enjoy these books and after reading book 4, will be eagerly anticipating the next installment! Please don't keep us waiting long (^ ^)v
A great time travel adventure with a witty heroine. I have read all books in the series and can't wait for a finale for closure to a wonderful relationship between a character and the reader. Each book dates back to a different historical period with unique troubles and social expectations that a 20th century woman would find unacceptable. Enjoy
Aside from needing to read all of the books in this series to get to the final ending, this was a great read! Please just purchase all of them in one go to save yourself the frustration of not having a real ending!
